Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, actor and musician, is well-known for his wisecracking and hard-edged role in action films. Together, he's been in films that grossed over $2.5 billion dollars. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of them living on a United States military base. His family moved to U.S. shortly after he was born, and he was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey, where his mother worked as a bank clerk, and his father worked as a welder as well as a factory worker. Willis picked up an interest in the drama arts during high school, and was allegedly "discovered" when he was working at an establishment in New York City and then performed in a few off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night and he was noticed by the casting director who was impressed by his persona and was in need of a bartender for a small film role. After numerous auditions, Willis made a few film appearances, usually uncredited, before being cast as the private watchdog "David Addison" alongside the gorgeous Cybill Shepherd on the popular romantic comedy TV series Moonlighting (1985). His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. is the highlight of his professional career. Some view it as an exercise to prepare for Willis as McClane in Die Hard (1988), where he defeated the gang of thieves who were stealing from the top of a Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990) in which he reprised the role. A group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to get back an evil South American general. They are set in Washington's Dulles International Airport. Excellent box office returns demanded a further sequel, Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), this time co-starring Samuel L. Jackson as a cynical Harlem shop owner who has been sucked into assisting McClane in a bombing campaign during a hot day in New York.
